Bilbo’s Bookshelf
The Realm of Books, Bibles, and Other Nerdy Catholic Stuff
Hail, Stranger
Welcome to Bilbo’s Bookshelf. This blog is a bit of an experiment. The general idea is a place to write about the things that I find interesting: history, Catholicism, books, etc…
If I write for an empty audience, then that’s okay. But if there are others out there with similar interests, then I hope they find this blog a welcome corner on the internet.
Visit the About section if you are interested in the background to the blog, or jump right in with the Blog. This is my first foray into the well-trodden world of blogging, so please be patient as I learn the ropes!
Our Lady Star of the Sea
I’ve noticed that blogs will sometimes have a patron saint. I’m not sure if this is still done anymore, but I’ve always liked the idea. I dedicate this blog to Our Lady Star of the Sea.
Eventually I would like to write a post about this wonderful title of Mary’s. In short, she is the patron of seafarers. Most of us will not spend much time on the waters, but I think we often find ourselves in stormy seas.
